Custom Playing Cards - Which Side is Which?

The most common point of confusion with Custom Playing Cards is

which is the "front" of the Playing Card and which is the "back."

Custom Playing Card "BACKS"

The "back" side of the Playing Card is known as the "common" side.

This is the side of the Playing Card that is always the same.

Thus, making your deck of Playing Cards a REAL deck.

Images and/or words are included on your "backs."

Custom Playing Card "FACES"

The front side of the Playing Card is known as the "face" of the Playing Card.

This side is where you see the Playing Card digits/pips and symbols.

Your Playing Card "faces" may be standard - meaning they will have the usual

King, Queen, Jack and so on . . . or you may completely customize the "face"

with images and/or words and with or without the standard digits/pips.

Playing Card Sizes

There are two standard Playing Card sizes: Bridge and Poker.

•  Bridge Sized Playing Cards are: 2.25" x 3.5"

•  Poker Sized Playing Cards are: 2.5" x 3.5"

When creating Custom Playing Cards we reccomend that you use

Poker Size Playing Cards because they have a greater impact.

We offer custom sized, shaped and various quality levels of Playing Cards.

Just tell us your needed specifications and we will create it for you

Types of Playing Cards

The poker craze has swept the nation.  On any given night a person can take in three or four

different poker tournaments on three or four different networks. Old pros do battle at the

tables with young bucks, and upstarts who learned to play online try to prove their worth to

those who cut their teeth at mid-level casinos all over the nation.  It is even possible to watch

celebrities go head-to-head while playing for charity and casting insults at their colleagues.

One network has even created a weekly drama that centers around the life and times of a

fictional poker legend.

This new found fascination with poker has caused people everywhere to start up regular

games.  In most cases, the amateurs want to be as close to the pros as possible.  They

get the right table, the right chips, and the right cards.

The two main choices of playing cards are

the same choices one gets at a grocery store; paper or plastic.  Card stock paper is much

stronger than most paper stocks, and it has been used for a long time.  A lot of players that

have been around for a while prefer paper cards, because that's what they were raised on.

Plastic cards are more durable than paper cards. It's as simple as that.  They last a much

longer time and their corners do not tend to bend as easily.  Many players also believe

plastic cards are easier to deal, because most of the best brands don't stick together.

Customizing Playing Cards

Every casino uses cards with its logo on them.  This can add a bit of class to the table and it

can help the casino advertise.  These customized cards and ones like them are featured on

every televised event. This has led a lot of people to seek out personalized cards of their own.

Playing card printing services allow a person to create any card design h e wants.  There are

countless options when it comes to creating a deck that is truly unique. This means that any

host of a friendly card game can flop his own customized cards onto the table, making the

game that much more like the ones in the big leagues.

Playing Cards

Serious card players have very specific things that they look for when choosing a deck of cards.

They want the cards to feel good in their hands.  They also want the cards to be flexible and

durable, and they want them to fly from the dealer's hands without getting stuck.  Every player

has his own preferences.  Some believe old-fashioned paper cards are the only ones worth

using, while others prefer the look and long-lasting quality of plastic cards.  Even within those

two categories, players will latch onto a specific brand that they think works best for them.

Both amateur and pro players have discovered the beauty of customized playing cards.  These

cards can be adorned with images and words that a person feels reflects his interests, or they

can be engraved with phrases meant to intimidate the others at the table.  These cards can make

a small apartment living room poker game feel more like the real thing, or they can be used as

gifts for those friends and family members who just love to play cards.

There are several web sites dedicated to playing cards.  They usually carry most of the major

brands such as Bicycle and Bee.  There are also distributors that only handle one style of card,

such as the Kem textured plastic design.  Many of these card dealers work solely on the Internet,

but some have actual storefronts.

Customized cards can be designed and ordered on the Web.  There are a few major printing

companies that will produce playing cards along with their other products.  However, they do

not always offer the array of options that a specialty printers makes available.

Advertising with Custom Playing Cards

It's Poker Night. The usual gang of players files into the house carrying an assortment of

beverages and chips.  They shuffle into the living room or garage where the slightly faded felt

table is set up.  Each person takes the same seat he has taken at every game for the last three

years.  Game faces are applied, friendly verbal jabs are cast, and the host takes his place, ready

to deal.  Everything is exactly how it has always been.  Then, the cards are dealt, and the game

takes a different turn.  The cards are emblazoned on the back with the host's name, and the

faces are adorned with a photo of the entire gang.

Custom playing cards have found their way into homes across the nation.  Card players of all

levels have found that a personalized deck can make the game a little more interesting.  There

are countless options when it comes to creating an original deck.  The best printing services

can incorporate several different design elements into one deck.  They also give a person the

option of creating a unified deck, or creating a deck where all 52 cards are different.

With a multi-design deck of cards, a company can advertise a variety of products.  They can

feature their logo and name on the card back, and they can use the face for digitally enhanced

photos of any items they wish to market.  Text can also be used on the cards, allowing a

business to print dates of sales, store locations, or any other pertinent information.

Most services will offer a discount when decks are purchased in bulk.  This means a company

can stock up for a relatively low cost before attending a convention or a trade show.  Specialty

cards can also be a great give away for companies when they are hosting client events.

Personalizing Playing Cards

People generally love to have personalized products.  This is evident in the number of vanity

license plates that adorn cars all over the country.  Personalization is especially appreciated

when it is applied to a gift.

Playing cards have become extremely popular personalized gifts.  More people are getting

back into cards now that they are all over the TV, and giving someone a customized deck

will allow them to play a game of poker, bridge, or even solitaire with a bit of style.  A

custom deck can be created and ordered over the Internet, and the cards can be completed

and delivered within weeks.

A person can use a variety of colors and fonts in the design of the deck.  Images and

photographs can also be put onto the cards.  This allows for the creation of very intricate cards.

That doesn't mean, however, that simple novelty designs can't be used.  In fact, a lot of people

will alter photos of the person they are giving the cards to for broad comedic effect.  They can

tack on a long gray beard and place the picture on a jet black card while creating the ever-

popular "over the hill" birthday deck. ncrease the worth of that piece in the mind of the recipient.

Digital printing has made it easier to personalize almost anything.  A product that has a paper,

plastic, cloth, or even ceramic surface can undergo the digital customizing process.  Pictures

and works can be transferred from a computer onto the item in question.  The fact that the

process has become so much easier has made it much cheaper, as well.

Creating Imprinted Cards

Anyone who has visited a casino or even watched poker played on television has noticed that

each gambling venue has customized cards.  The name of the casino will most likely be

displayed prominently on the back of the card, and some even have specialty faces.  These are

so highly sought after by many visitors that they are sold in almost every casino gift shop from

The Strip to Atlantic City.

It is possible for the amateur player to purchase imprinted playing cards that rival those used

in the casinos.  Customizing services allow a person to design a card that is basically only

limited by his imagination.  Cards can feature photos, images, and text.  Each design element

can employ a variety of colors and fonts.  A person can create a single look for the cards, or

he can come up with several different styles that will appear throughout the deck.

There are custom playing card companies that allow a person to handle the entire design

process over the Internet.  A person can submit images and literally create the look of his card

on the screen in front of him.  While this allows a person complete control over the outcome of

his deck, it is always a good idea to discuss the final product with a printing professional.

There are some services that offer customer service for every step of the customizing

procedure.  They will talk a person through each element of design, and they will discuss

ordering, pricing, and shipping options.  In many cases, the service will electronically send the

customer proofs of the deck before it is printed, ensuring that he gets exactly what he wants.

Designing Custom Made Playing Cards

Advances in digital printing have allowed companies to produce intricate designs on countless

items. T-shirts can be found with clear reproductions of photographs on them, there are mugs

featuring intricate artwork, and pizza cutters with extensive text written on their handles.  The

options that come with the technology and the relative low cost have caused many businesses

to use digital printing on smaller items as an advertising tool, and it has led people to go out and

personalize gifts with printed images or words.

Playing cards have become one of the most popular blank canvases for digital artists.  Cards

offer two surfaces that can be designed in any way shape or form. As long as the number and

some form of a suit appear somewhere on the face, the designer can do anything he wants.

Cards can have color, intricate designs, text, and photos printed on them. Images can be

manipulated and words can appear in any number of fonts.

The amount of choices available when printing cards can be a bit overwhelming.  This is why

the best online services make it possible for a person to work with a professional if he needs

to.  However, the customer can make all of the design choices himself, and he will have to

approve the final look of the customized deck before it is printed.

Before a person chooses a printing service, it is a good idea to take a look at past work that

has been produced.  This will give a person an idea of the quality of the cards, what the

packaging will look like, and how good the printing equipment is.  A person should also

check out prices, because fees vary greatly from one printer to the next.  Playing Cards

R Us has no such fees, no setup fees, no color charges - NO HIDDEN EXTRA  CHARGES.
